Alto Mayo

What this is

Alto Mayo is a bosque de protección — a legally designated protected area in Peru, covering about 1,826 km², established in 1987. Administered at the nacional level. What is permitted inside depends on the category — strict reserves allow almost nothing, national forests and extractive reserves allow managed use — so a detection here is a reason to look, not a verdict.
